About

Hastings Art Gallery, 10.19.jpg

David Straight was born in Christchurch, raised on the West Coast, and graduated from Massey University School of Fine Arts, Wellington. A habit of walking and exploring the everyday landscape has sharpened an appreciation for the importance of architecture and urban design on our everyday lives. His practice has evolved into a more focused exploration of New Zealand architecture and the built environment, both though personal book projects, and professionally for many of New Zealand’s leading architects. His work is frequently published nationally and internationally.
